I absolutely love Turkish towels (aka Pestemals) and have several that I use as scarves/wraps and beach blankets. But when I spotted this Turkish towel poncho at a local artisan’s market in Venice, it was so unique I just had to have it! The Handloom is a local company that “blends traditional Turkish culture and the Southern California sun.”

I wore it on an afternoon outing to Malibu Wines and it was the perfect layer — not too warm for the daytime, but for when the sun started to go down. It comes in other colors, but I loved the creamy light color. And I can see it looking great with a long sleeve white tee later in the fall!

Venezia

Last week we were in the romantic city of Verona, but this week’s #TBT is heading an hour west to Venice and the nearby beaches.

So crazy how literally the entire city is in water

So crazy how literally the entire city is in water. I wonder if this hotel has gondola valet?

I feel so lucky to have visited this amazing city. They say its only a matter of time before Venice is washed away and completely underwater, so go visit this spectacular city while you have the chance. I hear that some of the streets and bridges do flood quite often, so perhaps pack yourself some tall welly boots, just in case!
