You know the saying, “If you can’t beat them, join them?” Well thats how I feel about life right about now. The snow banks are growing by the day and probably will be here until July. So, I decided that if Mother Nature wants to play this game, well I will too! Here are some “white out” items that I’ve been lusting over lately. And really, when spring finally comes along these white items (especially this white stone and crystal necklace by Lulu Frost) would look so fabulous and fresh!
I’m SO sick of snow! We keep getting more and more every week (I think its snowing right now) and we’re finally resorting to pushing snow into the ocean now that its getting to be too much for us in the street! I tried to be optimistic and use the most recent 12″ of added snow as an opportunity to try out my new snowshoes. I scaled the 6 foot snowbank in front of my house and if it wasn’t -1* outside I would have stayed out longer! However, I’m pretty sure that Snowshoe Chic is now a thing. #snowshoechic
My sleepy little New England town is on its 3rd (probably 4th) day of no school due to this super snow storm, Nemo. I normally wouldn’t care very much about snow since 1) I have no children, and 2) I work from home, however, the little girls who live above me are too small to play in the 3+ ft of snow we have outside, and are therefore making quite the noisy ruckus upstairs! Oh well, I suppose a little noise is what you get when you live in a charming, yet older house!! A plow finally came to dig us out today and I am sure school will be back in session soon!
There are a few “grown up” snow day essentials (besides a nice bottle of wine and maybe a pair of earphones) that I cannot live without!
I know I have too many books, especially cookbooks like Gwyneth Paltrow’s, my father’s daughter. Even though it kills me, I know I eventually have to get rid of some of them. I’ve been combing through my cookbooks over and over again for the recipes I really love and for new ones to try. I have been writing the really “tried and true” recipes down on recipe cards, and flagging some must try recipes with sticky notes!
I used to play dominoes with my grandpa while he was in the hospital (but we never followed the rules). Our friends Jen & Kevin bought us this sleek dominoes set for Christmas this year, and we keep it out on our coffee table all the time for impromptu games. Can you tell where I bent the rules? My husband caught me after I took this picture.
