Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending a Sneak Peek event of Alexis Kletjian’s upcoming jewelry line!  The event took place at the super chic Tryst Studio in Hingham, where we not only drooled over Alexis’ amazing collection, but were given makeovers and eyebrow shaping services, snacked on amazing food from Kate’s Table, and danced to beats by DJ Edward Grant Stuart. Stephanie C. Olsen was also on hand to take some photos. I can’t wait to see them!

Alexis brought some fantastic jewels for us to all try on! She designs her own bangles, stacking rings, and pendants, but also reworks some antique pieces. The stacking rings are by far my favorite and I can’t wait to start building my own stack!

The catering, provided by Kate’s Table, was SO good and very innovative!  Mini margaritas in Patron nip bottles and amazing Asian noodles in mini takeout boxes. And the chopsticks were “cheater” style! The foodie in me definitely spent a lot of time socializing near the food. Ha!

I noticed this glittery moose head as I was leaving and even though it was kind of dark I tried to take a picture.  How cute is it!? Very modern girl, if you ask me!

If you’re interested in checking out Alexis’ amazing jewelry line you can check out her Instagram page and her blog.  She takes custom orders and will even send your husband/boyfriend/significant other a “hinting” newsletter to help clue them in on exactly what you want!

Handbags for Bloggers

Counter clockwise from top left: MZ Wallace / Alexander Wang / Tory Burch
Celine / Vince Camuto / Longchamp / Michael Kors / Kate Spade

One of the hardest things about blogging is remembering to take my camera with me. I can’t tell you how many times I was out and wished that I had my nice DSLR instead of my iPhone. What really makes a difference for me is having a purse that nicely fits my camera, so I’m able to easily tote it around with me wherever I go.

I love the quilted look of this MZ Wallace bag, and it comes in a ton of fun colors.  I’ve been drooling over this Alexander Wang bag for months and months. I just love the mix of the pastel leather and tough studs. The sunny orange color of this Tory Burch bag would be perfect for summer, and could double as a beach bag. My designer pick would be this fantastic Celine bag — too bad my DSLR only travels via Celine in my dreams! I love the bucket bag style, and this Vince Camuto bag has a great perforated detail. Longchamp bags are so versatile, and depending on the size they would definitely fit my camera and much more! This Michael Kors bag is so luxe, and has top handles as well as a cross body strap. Finally, I love this Kate Spade bag and the subtle bow detailing on the front.

20 Questions

I saw this on Alexis Kletjian‘s site and thought it might be fun thing to do on a Friday. The 20 questions are originally from Marie Claire’s interview with Sarah Jessica Parker. Here goes nothin’…

1. What brings you the greatest joy? Being with my family. I’m a homebody at heart!

2. What are your vices? Fashion magazines, particularly Lucky and InStyle.

3. What is on your nightstand? Nothing too exciting. A bkr water bottle and Badger sleep balm.

4. Do you have a secret talent? I don’t know if this is a talent, but I have a very good memory.

5. What is your greatest indulgence? Shoes and handbags. I refuse to buy cheap ones!

6. What should every woman try at least once in her life? To live on her own for at least a year.

7. What makes you laugh? I love to read “Damn You Autocorrect” submissions when I need a pick-me-up.

8. What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I have a green thumb and grow my own herbs every year.

9. What is on your bucket list? My 60 before 30 list has a lot of my “bucket list” items, but I really want to take a trip to Iceland to whale watch, see the volcanos, and visit the geothermal beaches and hot springs!

10. What is on your feet right now? Tory Burch Caroline flats.

11. How did you make your first dollar? I found a $50 bill on the floor of an A&P supermarket on Cape Cod when I was about 2 years old.

12. What superstition do you believe in? You can’t tell anyone your birthday candle wishes!

13. What items in your closet do you wear the most? I work from home, so probably jeans or yoga pants.

14. What is the best gift you’ve ever received? My dad sent me a new camera, which was very unexpected!

15. What is on your liquor shelf? Bombay Sapphire, Monkey 47 gin, and St. Germain.

16. What is on your kitchen counter? A Keurig, a Vitamix, an espresso machine, and my husband’s mail.

17. What would you never leave home without? My Karen Walker sunglasses and iPhone.

18. What movie has the greatest ending? Casablanca. Oh, what he did for love!

19. Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party? Someone with great stories–perhaps someone who has lived in exotic places or traveled around the world.

Paris2013 (3)

20. What is one thing you wish you had known when you were younger? Just go for it!  There are so many things we miss out on because we are afraid.

Toast of the Town

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a blogger dinner hosted by Georgina at Boston Chops in Boston’s South End. The dinner was spectacular–filled with friends, good food, and lots of sparkle!

Georgina had every table exquisitely decorated with crystals, fantastic monogramed place cards, fun straws, gift bags, and gorgeous Karla Cassidy floral arrangements. I was seated at a table of other fantastic bloggers, including real life ballerina, Shelby, and a DIY crochet whiz and Etsy shop owner, Lianna
