Sunday I drove my husband to the train station for a work trip in New York City (jealous!).  I ran a few errands and was home by 1pm–all I wanted to do was fit on the couch and watch TV.  Of course, the only thing that I could find on TV was a Say Yes to the Dress marathon.  So, of course I watched it.  And it made me totally nostalgic for my own wedding and wedding dress.

It was just me and my mom when I got ready.  It was nice and peaceful and very calming.

We look all smiles, but in this photo I am actually arguing with my dad about wearing this veil.

We had a picture perfect ceremony.  A little windy, though! (Note: No veil — it flew off!)

One of my most favorite candids of the day — right after walking down the aisle.
We were so happy to be married and celebrating at Saltwater Farm Vineyard.

Our first dance was so much fun. We danced to Fallen by Lauren Wood.

I had the most gorgeous custom made hair clip by Percy Handmade.

Married and ready to party!

Love in Vermont

BQ Wedding (3)

Dress: Alice + Olivia / Necklace: J.Crew Factory / Shoes: Zara / Bag: Vintage

This past weekend we headed up to Sugarbush Resort in Vermont for our 6th and final wedding of the year! Confession: I have lived in New England all of my life and this was my first trip to Vermont. Better late than never, I suppose! I absolutely loved Vermont and I can’t wait to go back later this year for some skiing.

The next morning at breakfast we made friends with the resort’s dog, Rumble!

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Boyle!

A White Mountain wedding

MtWashington (4)

I took a break from my packing and moving to head up to the White Mountains of New Hampshire for a wedding.  We stayed at the cutest little inn (Wildflowers Inn in North Conway) and had a blast celebrating our friends Jenny & Kevin.  I couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous mountain views.  I hope to go back this winter to try my luck at skiing!

And here are a few snaps of the reception!  They had the cutest fall-themed cake decked out in sugar leaves.  Jenny’s dress was so gorgeous and she had custom straps added to ensure she would be comfortable all night on the dance floor!

My husband was the best man.  I think this picture sums up their relationship pretty well! Doug did his best to tastefully roast the groom and everyone was on the floor laughing by the end of his speech.

Now back to packing & moving!

One of my favorite fall trends this year is lace. I have a wedding to go to in October and for weeks I’ve had my eye on a Nicole Miller dress via Rent the Runway. Just waiting on the weather for a few more weeks to figure out if I should go long sleeve or sleeveless!  Shop more of my favorite lace dresses below!

Modern Girl in the Countryside

This past weekend my husband, my friend Diana, and I trekked farther north than I had ever been before in the US… Maine!  We made the journey for the wedding of our dear friends, Stephanie & Eli.  At first I thought that I was in northern Maine, but turns out we were only about halfway through the state near Bangor.  I never knew how big Maine was!!

This trip was also my 2nd experience camping.  Let’s just say there are no photos of the camping and I will not be camping again…. ever. I am an indoor, stay in a hotel, need to sleep in a bed kind of girl.  However, the wedding was SO fun and here are some of my favorite pics from my iPhone:

Hanging with the lovely Diana before the ceremony!

I honored the bride’s Texas roots with some cowboy boots!

Taking a break from the heat!

The beautiful bride!  So sad she will be moving soon, but then again I just have another reason to visit my favorite city in TX!

**A note on the camping… I woke up around 4:30am due to some very loud birds and wandered the campground property until my husband woke up at 8am.  I am so sad I forgot my camera because my iPhone died and that morning I saw the most beautiful sunrise and sat at the pond for hours. But don’t think these views make me want to camp again.  I could still see the sunrise if I slept in a house.  But, I might need to set an alarm since I’d be away from those noisy birds!
